This project focuses on the behavorial patterns of birds that spend most of their lives near water.

Our project focuses on the behavior of large birds around bodies of water. The purpose of this study is to see what birds do when they're in their habitat. We care about this project because we want to know how birds behave around certain bodies of water, if they all act the same as other birds of their species, or if they do their own thing.

The behaviors we intend to see are feeding, hunting, preening, swimming and locomotion. The types of environments that we look at are with water, but more like enclosed places like a pond or lily pool. The birds we are focusing on mainly are Herons, Bitterns, Egrets, Ducks, Geese, Swans, Gulls, and other birds of that nature.

We don't influence the birds actions by throwing food, or vocalizing to them, we want to record their natural behavior, so we try not to disturb them, to get to observe their natural behavior.
